Joe: I am trying to find 54mm accessories like bottles, coffee pots. cooking pots, plates and cups in metal. Do You know of any company or companies that make these items. I prefer to paint them Myself. But some one paints these items that is okey. Thank You for any help. Also very helpful web site.
Answer: There are lots of resin kits out there usually for WWII era accessories, but I find them to be expensive and not really in scale with plastic 54mm figures. The Marx company made the most extensive range of these types of diorama pieces. I would Suggest that you check out the "Classic Toy Soldiers" Company website http://www.classictoysoldiers.com/cgi-bin/ctsc6/rtl/prd_s.cgi which sell re-cast Marx co. camp accessories, and weapon "sprues" with frying pans, etc. among the weapons and canteens etc. . The are unpainted plastic and must be washed in light soap to remove the release agent from the surface of the plastic before painting them . THese are also the most inexpensive items on the market today that I know of

back a few weeks from Texas. I did visit Kings X toy soldier store in San Antonio. Got some BMC Yorktown and Alamo.
In San Marcos itself...where I was staying....I got some more BMC and to me a new company called Safari Toobs....expensive but quite unique and pre-painted....at Hobby Lobby.
In a small store I found interesting SPORTS figures, a neglected theme in my view....baseball, football, basketball. These were pre-painted and the manufacturer was CP Inc...new to me.
also picked up some Boy Scout basketball players (Marx clones???)
I will hopefully be back in Texas in 2015. And I will know my way around next time. I'd like to get to a flea market next time.
Thanks for all the info.

Bill, I am not aware of any place that has those particular heads. "Armies in Plastic" does Franco Prussion and WWI German figures with picklehaubs... hope that helps
Joe I really like the Jaegers and Picklehaub heads, but did I notice that they can only be purchased from overseas, I had some very bad experiences buying items from across oceans. Is there anywhere in the USA to get these Prussian-type heads?

Rob, I have been doing dioramas fro Museums and Historical Societies fro the past few years. I also painted quite a number of the new figures.. but really can't keep up. Also have been working on several other scales as well...28mm, 40mm, 15mm, and 10 mm . Helps create depth of field with dioramas also for gaming. Been also running a music Studio (Watershops Studio)... producing several recording artists now.... check out youtube... East of the Sky Orchestra..."space music" and soundscape; and under Joe Carvalho type in "Irish Brigade" for one of the videos. Hope you are doing well too,
